Week Eight – Can’t Someone Else Do It?

I hear you – you’re sick of writing blogs

Almost every week for almost two months I’ve asked you to write about 1000 words. I bet you’re sick of it now. Luckily you don’t have to do it all yourself. There are a few ways to get content without writing it

1 – Ask one of your Instructors or other staff members to write a blog

Surely you have someone else on the roster who knows as much about Martial Arts as you do! Rope them in to write some content for you. You can explain the ins & outs of Blog writing now you’re an expert, and it’s good to have a few different authors of your blogs. People have different writing tones and different ways of explaining things, so if you have a range of voices on your blog you’ll be able to communicate with a wider range of people.

Talk to the people in your organisation and see whos willing to write for you.

2 – Ask one of your STUDENTS to write a blog

A lot of your students will be gifted writers, and many of them may be used to writing content for the internet. Get them involved in writing about their classes. They could even keep a training diary and publish it on your site so that others can get a flavor of what it’s like to train at your academy.

Top Tip: We haven’t discussed this yet, by myMA / WordPress sites let you categorise your blogs so that similar themed posts can be kept together:

If you start a student training diary with a long-term student you have a good relationship with, then you can call this category ‘Jakes Training Diary’ and tag each post as that category. You can have ‘News’ or ‘Student Spotlight’ categories as well. Having a clear layout for your site all helps with SEO, so this is worth doing. Take some time and go back into your old posts and sort them into appropriate categories

3 – If all else fails – pay someone to write for you. But be VERY CAREFUL!

If you just don’t have time, and you can’t get anyone else to write for you, you can always pay someone to write content for you. Sites like Fiverr have loads of people who will write blogs for you (just search for ‘Blog’ in the search box) and you’ll see loads of offers. Be very careful with this through, as a key part of SEO is that content should be UNIQUE. If you pay someone and they’re re-cycling other peoples posts you wont get much of an traffic boost from it.

Luckily, you can check content before it goes live with tools like this Plagiarism Checker.

Just copy and paste your content into the text box, and click ‘Check Plagiarism’:

Hopefully you’ll see all your content is UNIQUE. If so, its okay to publish:

Week Eight Wrap Up

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: Content is KING. But you don’t have to do all the heavy lifting yourself. Get anyone and everyone you can to write blogs for you and you’ll be able to keep posting content indefinitely.
